Sorry for getting this in late.
I've read this book before i got to hear from my english teacher that we had to read it for our assignment. However, I couldn't really remember what it was about, so i got to read it again. As i continued reading this book, I started to find out how i felt when i read it for the first time. Also, i could compare the feelings with the current ones.
I i first got to read this book, i was in Canada. My homestay brother assisted me to read this book and i told him that it looks boring. However, he kind of forced me to read it. The first chapter that was introducing and trying to show the background was really boring to me, but as i got to read the book continueously, it was touching.
I felt as same during my second read in BIHS (Well it came to me a little closer though). The part where Morrie says that he feels really happy not only when people do a huge favor to him but also when they do something really small but touching. The part really got into my eyes because I had the same feeling during my comparably short life. When i was in middle school, i used to get a little more chocolates than others in the school during the valentines day(yes, i am bragging a little). Well, that didn't really felt really romantic or something. In the contrast, when i started dating my lover in this school, I didn't really get much of a chocolate or pockies that i used to get. But the time when my girlfriend gave me one of those, it felt like heaven. Although i only got chocolates from my girlfriend, it felt much better than getting tons.
This book has remined me of many things such as love, voluntary spirits,,,and so on.
I would like to recommend this book to anyone who's depressed and thing they don't have anything intereting to do in there life.
